Perthes/ SUFE/ Skeletal Dysplasias

There are a number of developmental/ childhood problems with hips that can predispose someone to developing arthritis. Often, a patient will know that they have had a problem as a child and may even have been told that they are likely to need a hip replacement when they are older. In this situation, it is usually a matter of time before the problems with the hip progress on to arthritis. If you have had problems like this, then at some point you will develop symptoms related to your hip. This may be pain, clicking/clunking, giving way and significant restricted movement. A decision on whether hip replacement surgery is required is a balance of the severity of the symptoms versus the risks of surgery and how that fits into your life at this point in time.

I had an excellent experience, kind, courteous and thorough. I would highly recommend this surgeon, and so far I have had an excellent result from my new hip.
